STONE masons have been carrying out-much needed repairs to a village war memorial.
Father and son team Chris and Dean Cleevely, (pictured below) who work at the family-run Cleevely Memorials, have been sprucing up the cenotaph in Alderton
The company stepped in to carry out the clean up operation after learning the parish council was struggling to raise enough money for the work.
It is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and Chris and his wife, Caroline, wanted to give something back to the community to mark the occasion.
Keith Page, chairman of the parish council, said the authority had been considering getting the work done on the Willow Bank Road memorial for some time. He said: "We were hesitating about what we should do when Mr Cleevely, who lives in the village, kindly offered to do it.
"It is something where specialist knowledge is required for this kind of work.
"We did look at doing it on a DIY basis but we didn't want to cause any more damage to it."

The people of Alderton are indebted to the work carried out by Chris and Dean - may we offer our heartfelt thanks............ THANK YOU
